A disclaimer is relevant information the consumer must be aware of in relation to the product. It is typically used to communicate risks or specific conditions or accessories required for optimal product performance (batteries not included). All disclaimers must be clear and conspicuous.
Disclaimers must be precise and not:
- Contradict a statement in the other text
- Alter the general impression of the other text.
Do not use disclaimers to notify third party trademarks.
Please check with the MIB legal department when developing a disclaimer for a new Midea branded product.
Disclaimer example
Based on IEC Standard in comparison to reference machine
Capacity of wine cooler based on 23 bottles of 750 ml size standard
Disclaimers referring to a feature
To make clear to which feature a disclaimer belongs, include a part of the feature in the disclaimer.
Example:
Sunlight Fresher – Test in Midea lab, which is certificated by SGS, TUV, Intertek and others
Generic disclaimer
This is a standard text we use on documents containing a number of features and/or commercial specs, such as leaflets and user manuals.
