Basic Layout Setup Steps
Step 1: Setup Deep Blue White Visual Design

Set deep blue bar visual design on the front and back of the packaging.

The width is 23% of the front length.

Step 2: Define the Safe Area

The width of the safe area square “A” is 5% of the front short side; the safe area width should retain same around each side.

Step 3: Position the Brandmark

Brandmark on fve sides (front/back/left/right/top):  

  • The brandmark width should retain the same as the deep blue bar width;
  • The brandmarks used on all sides should retain same width as the the front brandmark.

Front & back side brandmark: Placed top aligned with the top edge of the deep blue bar.

Left & right side brandmark: Placed top aligned with the top edge of the panel and left aligned with the safe area border. 

Top side brandmark: Placed together with slogan, center aligned within the panel.

Step 4: Lay out Brand Assets & Icons

Positioning the brand assets & icons:

  • Place brand assets and icons in the non-safe area within the deep blue bar ensuring they are visually  clear and aesthetically appealing;
  • The distance between Midea brandmark and No.1 icon is 55% of the Midea logotype height;
  • The distance between No.1 icon and FC Barcelona partnership logo is 55% of the Midea logotype height;
  • The distance between FC Barcelona partnership logo and none brand asset icon (eg. product feature icon) is 90% of the Midea logotype height;
  • All icons are prohibited from covering the safe area of the deep blue bar.
Step 5: Frame the Front/Back Information

Text area height setting

  • The height is ~12% of the packaging height;
  • Place text center aligned at the top of the white background;
  • Text is not allowed to cover the safe area.

Image area height setting:

  • The height is ~75% of the packaging height;
  • Place product image in the center of the white background;
  • Product image is not allowed to cover the text area and safe area.
Step 6: Frame the Side Information Area

Left side: 

  • Top blank area: ~15% packaging height;
  • Product introduction area and product feature image area are set with 2 seperate white panels;
  • Slogan with supporting graphic: 2.5% packaging height, bottom aligned to the safe area border. 

Right side: 

  • Top blank area: ~15% packaging height;
  • Product feature image area;
  • Other information area.

The gap: 

  • The gap between each of the area panel should not exceed below 0.5% packaging short edge. 

Note: Each of the panel area ratio should remain flexible depends on the amount of information needed.
